The hotel had some positives like exceptional service and a lovely location, but was let down by dated rooms and disappointing dining options. The shared decking walkway made sitting outside inconvenient, and the breakfast service fell short of expectations.

Rooms

The rooms were large and beautifully furnished, with a fabulous bathroom featuring a wonderful and unusual shower.

The staff, from housekeeping to the GM, were friendly and helpful.

The hotel had some positives like well-decorated rooms and attentive service, but there were issues with rooms feeling cramped and tobacco smoke coming in. The location was convenient for exploring Cornwall, and the dining options were satisfactory. Facilities were somewhat lacking, with signs of mold due to poor HVAC.

Rooms
6.0
The room and bathroom are very well decorated and styled, but they felt extremely small with limited storage space.
Service
8.0
The staff were very professional, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond.
Location
7.0
The hotel worked for us as a stop gap, but Redruth alone wouldn't be a holiday destination. It was ideal for exploring West Cornwall.
Dining
7.0
The dining options were good with a variety of hot and cold dishes available.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel lacked proper HVAC, leading to condensation and signs of mold. The bar area looked outdated and had uncomfortable seating.

I found the hotel to be a mixed experience. While the rooms were quite dated and in need of some updating, the service from the staff was friendly and helpful. The location, though a bit out of the way, served as a good base for exploring Cornwall. The dining options left something to be desired, with breakfast falling short of expectations, but the overall facilities were satisfactory.

Rooms
5.0
I have to admit that the rooms were not the most modern and could do with some renovation to match the rest of the hotel.
Service
8.0
The staff, led by GM Nick, were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location was a bit off the main attractions in Cornwall, yet it was a convenient starting point for exploring the area.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was underwhelming, particularly at breakfast which lacked quality and attention to detail.
Facilities
6.0
Some areas could use improvement and modernization to elevate the overall experience.

7.8/10

The hotel is located in a convenient spot for exploring Cornwall and is ideal for discovering the south west. The rooms, although not in complete working order upon arrival, are spacious and modern. The service is friendly and professional, especially towards our little furry friend. The dining experience could be improved, as the service was a bit confusing, but the Pork Belly was seriously yummy. The facilities, including the cafe and swimming pool, are well-maintained. Overall, the location makes it a great base for exploring the area.

The hotel is a great launching off point for most of the main attractions in Cornwall but could be updated and was a little dirty in places.
Dining

The dining service could be more organized, but the Pork Belly was seriously yummy.

The facilities, especially around the cafe and swimming pool, are well-maintained.
